JSE-listed Wesizwe Platinum has informed shareholders that the Bakubung platinum mine concentrator plant, in the North West, has been placed on care and maintenance while the company prioritises underground infrastructure development and the completion of an optimisation study. The company says the decision aligns processing activities with the timing of underground stoping and the availability of sufficient sustainable ore feed. Appropriate maintenance and preservation activities will continue during this period to safeguard the plant and associated infrastructure.
