Iron-ore rises on slower-than-expected China demand fall

Iron-ore prices ticked up on Monday, following dramatic falls in the prior two months, helped by a slower-than-expected fall in demand from top consumer China, although expectations of a supply glut in the fourth quarter limited gains. The most-traded iron-ore contract on China’s Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) was up 0.59% at 679 yuan ($102.05) a metric ton, as of 0158 GMT. It lost 3.4% and 4.3% in September and October, respectively.
