India seeks $220bn clean energy push to meet 2030 target

India needs about $220-billion in clean energy investment over the next three years as it races to expand renewable power and grid infrastructure to meet its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, a senior government official said on Wednesday.

Santosh Kumar Sarangi, the top official at the federal clean energy ministry, said the investments will be needed across solar and wind power, battery energy storage, green hydrogen and transmission infrastructure.
