Platinum Blasting Services says it has been awarded the drill and blast services contract for Argo Natural Resources’ New Burton Mine project in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
The award builds on Platinum’s existing work with Argo, including services delivered at Broadlea Mine over the past two years, and further strengthens the partnership between the two businesses, it adds.
Under the contract, Platinum will provide a complete drill and blast solution, including drilling, explosives supply, blasting, engineering and technical support services.
Platinum’s CEO, Brad Bulow, said the contract reflected the company’s focus on delivering practical, technically robust blasting solutions tailored to each customer’s operational needs.
“We’re proud to be supporting Argo and to bring our integrated drill and blast capability to the New Burton Mine project,” Bulow said. “Our team understands the importance of safe, reliable and responsive service, and we look forward to helping deliver strong outcomes for the operation.”
The work will be supported by Platinum’s local manufacturing and supply capability through its Moranbah emulsion plant and operational hub, enhancing security of supply and responsiveness for the project. The Burton contract also highlights Platinum’s continued growth in Queensland’s mining sector and its focus on building long-term customer partnerships across the region, it says.
