Carbon offsets can connect mining competitiveness with rural development, The African Stove Company (TASC) commercial director Dr Storm Patel highlighted at the launch of Mineral Council South Africa’s inaugural Climate Change Day of Learning, attended by public and private sector climate mitigation protagonists. By buying South African credits, mines can reduce part of their carbon tax cost while helping finance land restoration, rural jobs and farmer incomes.
